Job summary

University of Fort Hare is seeking an Au Pair in Hurlingham, Johannesburg to care for two children aged 14 and 11. Primary duties include school pickups, driving to activities, and homework help, with general errands as needed.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 13:30–17:30, with similar school-holiday hours. Start mid-January 2027 on a permanent contract. Salary is R10 000 per month gross, with a VW Jetta provided for childcare duties.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience within the last 2 years.
• Must have own reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record.
• Must have a passion for children.
• Must have a South African ID and Matric.

Responsibilities

• Collecting the kids from school and transporting to and from extra murals.
• Help with homework and general errands.
• Transport to doctors’ appointments as necessary.
• Assist with any childcare related tasks.

A family is looking for an AU PAIR for their children aged 14 and 11 years old
Area: Hurlingham

Duties: Collecting the kids from school, transporting to and from extra murals, helping them with their homework, general errands, transporting to doctors’ appointments etc as necessary, assisting with anything childcare related
Requirements:Organised, kind and patient but who can be firm, very careful driver and street smart, someone who has a license for longer than 2 years.
Start date: middle January 2027 start – permanent contract
Salary: R10 000 per month (gross, before deductions), manual VW Jetta provided for childcare duties
