Job summary

Incomar, Centurion, is seeking a Software Engineer for Mission Control and Operations. The role focuses on developing desktop software and testing suites for flight operations and simulators.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Computer Engineering or software-related field, 3–5 years of desktop software experience, and strong C/C++ skills (C17/C++20+). Experience with GitHub, Qt Creator, and technical writing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering, or a relevant software-related tertiary qualification.
• 3-5 years of professional desktop software development experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming languages, preferably C17/C++20 or later.
• Exposure to software version control tools (GitHub, etc).
• Proficient in development environments and software design packages (e.g. Qt Creator).
• Technical writing and software documentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Performing software development activities, including architectural design, interface design, implementation, coding, documentation, verification & testing.
• This role will initially concentrate on the testing aspect of the software.
• Configuration and version management of all software source code and software files.
• Simulation, data analysis and report writing applicable to allocated tasks.
• Ensuring that customer requirements and applicable standards are met.
• Assisting with cost and time estimates for engineering tasks/projects.
• Planning and executing tasks within agreed to budgets and timescales.
• Apply sound ethical principles.
