Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate various adventure tours and activities, ensuring optimal logistics.
• Liaise with and manage freelance tour guides and activity instructors, ensuring they meet company standards.
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and emergency procedures for all activities.
• Manage client bookings, inquiries, and payments, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of tours, participant numbers, and feedback.
• Source and manage relationships with suppliers for equipment and services.
• Assist in the development of new adventure tour packages and itineraries.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant permits, licenses, and regulations.
• Conduct pre-activity briefings and post-activity debriefings with clients and guides.
• Contribute to marketing efforts by providing content and insights related to tour offerings.

About the Role

Our client, a leading adventure tourism operator based near Mossel Bay, Western Cape , is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Adventure Tourism Coordinator. This role involves planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of adventure activities, including hiking, kayaking, cycling tours, and potentially more extreme sports. The coordinator will be responsible for liaising with tour guides, ensuring safety protocols are met, managing bookings, and delivering exceptional experiences to clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, excellent logistical skills, and a strong understanding of the adventure tourism market in the region. You will play a key part in creating memorable and safe adventures for local and international visitors, contributing to the company's reputation for quality and excitement. This role requires a blend of administrative expertise and a hands‑on approach to operations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in booking software and general office applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often in dynamic environments.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, based on operational needs.
• A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to sustainable tourism practices.
• First Aid or Wilderness First Responder certification is highly desirable.
