About the Role

Our client, a premier adventure tourism operator based in the stunning coastal region of Mossel Bay, Western Cape, is looking for experienced and certified Adventure Sports Guides to lead a variety of thrilling excursions. We specialize in providing safe, memorable, and high-quality outdoor experiences for local and international tourists. This role requires individuals with exceptional outdoor skills, strong leadership qualities, and a passion for sharing the natural beauty of the region. You will be responsible for guiding clients through activities such as surfing, kayaking, hiking, and potentially other local adventures, ensuring their safety and enjoyment at all times. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide clients safely through various adventure activities, including but not limited to surfing, kayaking, and hiking tours.
• Provide clear instructions, safety briefings, and demonstrate proper techniques for all activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the excursion, managing risks effectively.
• Maintain and manage all equipment used for activities, ensuring it is in excellent condition and properly stored.
• Educate clients about the local environment, wildlife, and points of interest relevant to the tour.
• Respond calmly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies that may arise.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of activity sites as required.
• Gather client feedback to help improve service delivery and experiences.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and relevant industry regulations.
• Promote a positive and fun atmosphere, enhancing the overall client experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an adventure sports guide or similar role, with specific experience in at least two of the following: surfing, kayaking, hiking.
• Valid certifications relevant to the activities offered (e.g., ISA Surf Instructor, ACA Kayak Instructor, Wilderness First Responder, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of the local geography, natural environment, and safety considerations for Mossel Bay and surrounding areas.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
• Physical fitness and stamina to participate actively in strenuous outdoor activities.
• A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to environmental conservation.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are highly desirable.
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
