Job summary

Yee Hong Centre For Geriatric Care is seeking an Activation Manager to help shape the culture, resident experience, and care environment from day one as Ng Siu Chan Care Centre opens.

Built on Relationship-Centred Care and Meaningful Living, the role focuses on planning and delivering meaningful recreational and social activities for residents, while coordinating with the interdisciplinary team and supporting staff with budget, policies, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or equivalent; B.S.W. and Registered Social Worker designation in Ontario an asset.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in program planning and delivery in healthcare.
• Fluency in English and Chinese; other languages assets.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and ensures delivery of meaningful therapeutic, recreational and social programs for residents of the LTC Home.
• Supports staff in implementing innovative programs and evaluates effectiveness.
• Coaches, develops and evaluates staff; promotes teamwork and open communication.
• Manages internal budget and expenditure controls for activation program.
