Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking a capable Debtors Team Lead to mentor and drive the debtors function within a fast-paced FMCG environment in South Africa. You will oversee a large debtors book, ensure timely collections, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the team.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong leadership, robust collections knowledge, and excellent stakeholder management to support month-end processes and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring, and developing the Debtors team to achieve departmental objectives.
• Managing the full debtors function within a high-volume FMCG environment.
• Overseeing a large debtor's book and ensuring collections targets are consistently achieved.
• Driving collection strategies to improve cash flow and minimise overdue accounts.
• Reviewing account reconciliations and resolving complex customer queries.
• Approving credit notes, payment allocations, account adjustments, and journals.
• Monitoring debtor ageing and implementing corrective action where required.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and key stakeholders.
• Preparing and analysing debtors reports for management review.
• Identifying process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Supporting month-end processes and maintaining accurate debtor records.
