Job summary

Sydsen Group (Pty) Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accounts Controller to join the Head Office finance team in Pretoria. You will maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, manage AP/AR, perform reconciliations and support month-end and financial reporting activities.

The role requires 2–5 years in accounting, proficiency with ERP systems (Pastel/QuickBooks) and strong analytical skills. Coal mining experience is advantageous and attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Accounting / bookkeeping qualification advantageous.
• 2-5 years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR or a similar finance role.
• Experience with Pastel, QuickBooks or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong reconciliation and month-end experience.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience within the coal mining environment would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process customer and supplier invoices, credit notes and payments.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
• Follow up on outstanding customer balances.
• Verify supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting.
• Monitor expenses and cash flow.
• Assist with audit documentation.
