Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accounts Administrator to join our client’s finance team.
This is a varied, hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working with numbers, managing multiple priorities and ensuring that financial information is accurate, complete and up to date.
The successful candidate will provide day‑to‑day accounting and administrative support across a range of financial functions, including reconciliations, journals, invoicing, cash books, reporting and general accounting administration.
Processing daily accounting transactions and maintaining accurate financial records.
Processing journals, invoices and other accounting entries.
Performing regular bank, balance sheet and account reconciliations.
Maintaining and reconciling cash books.
Processing sales, commission and other financial transactions.
Preparing and maintaining financial schedules and supporting documentation.
Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Processing and reconciling commission and incentive payments.
Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and schedules.
Maintaining databases and spreadsheets and ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
Reviewing transactions and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Assisting with month‑end and year‑end accounting processes.
Preparing information and supporting schedules for audits.
Assisting with VAT and other statutory reporting requirements.
Processing payments and assisting with the administration of group or subsidiary company accounts.
Identifying discrepancies and following up to ensure that accounts are correctly reconciled.
Providing general accounting and administrative support to the finance team as required.
Matric and relevant accounting qualificationn
Previous experience in an accounts administration, bookkeeping or similar finance role.
Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
Strong reconciliation and numerical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good Excel skills and experience working with accounting software.
Experience working with Pastel
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with financial information.
A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
