Job summary

Protect Group is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join the Finance team in Cape Town. The role covers local and international entities, GST/VAT, accounts payable, data handling across multiple systems, and month-end close with currency conversions.

Ideal candidates bring strong English, integrity, and time management, with IT skills (Excel) and a background in accounting. Hybrid work options may apply within a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• SAIPA or CIMA advantageous but not required.
• Articles completed and/or partially qualified accepted.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounts for local and foreign entities.
• Process GST/VAT returns and prepare returns.
• Accounts Payable: processing invoices, payments, and setting up bank payments.
• Maintain financial data across multiple systems and entities.
• Prepare month-end accounts with balance sheet reconciliations and currency conversions.
• Assist team with ad hoc tasks and some office administration.
• Monitor expenses and assist in monthly/annual accounts.
