The Mercury Group is seeking an Accounting Manager. You will be based at our head office in Sandton.
Your duties will be split between Good Knight bedding, Blue Mercury trading and Blue Mercury financial services with regards to financials. Your duties will include oversight and management for selected retail stores, communicating with staff, ensuring stock counts and banking are correct on a weekly basis, ensuring the stores are running efficiently with no stock shortages or issues regarding sales or returns from customers, dealing with our twelve corporate stores insuring stock levels and purchase orders are correct, daily banking of cash sales ensuring amounts relate to orders being dispatched, dealing with suppliers regarding raw materials in the factory, assisting with VAT returns and submissions, loading payments and purchase orders, reconciling accounts, and balancing payments from product providers versus policies sold or products sold. You will work closely with the CFO and assist with VAT returns and some financial reports, and you will be required to do some store visits with a travel bonus. Other key responsibilities include internal controls and risk management, establishing and maintaining internal controls for stock and inventory control for the factory and the twelve corporate stores, evaluating financial risks, identifying and assessing potential financial risks, team leadership and management overseeing sales staff and managing their inventory control and stock levels, supporting executive decision-making by providing financial information and analysis to aid in strategic planning, and identifying cost savings by proposing measures to reduce operational costs.
