Job summary

Tangent International urgently seeks a RAN Product Engineer for a 3-month rolling contract based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The role focuses on hands-on 5G RAN deployment, integration, commissioning, and site operations across multi-vendor environments (ZTE, Huawei, Ericsson).

Responsibilities include on-site software upgrades, license activations, hardware verification, and coordination with field teams to drive successful deployments while ensuring adherence to standards and safety.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, IT, or related field is required.
• Experience with wireless networks and RAN technologies is essential.
• Strong knowledge of 5G concepts and base station architectures is expected.
• Experience with site commissioning and multi-vendor deployments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute integration and commissioning of 5G RAN equipment across live networks.
• Perform on-site software upgrades and license activation.
• Verify hardware installation quality, cabling, power, and GPS sync.
• Coordinate with installation teams to resolve site issues.
• Maintain deployment records and documentation.
