Job summary

Tangent (International) Ltd. is seeking a RAN Product Engineer for a 3-month rolling contract based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The role focuses on integrating and commissioning ZTE 5G RAN equipment, performing on-site software upgrades and license activations, and verifying installation quality in coordination with the installation teams.

Qualifications

• Familiar with base station hardware structures, hardware modules and interfaces, and site commissioning process.
• Proficient in Linux commands.

The client is looking for a RAN Product Engineer to work a 3 month rolling contract based in South Africa (Johannesburg).

Job Responsibility:

• Execute the integration and commissioning of ZTE 5G RAN equipment based on scripts.
• Perform on-site software upgrades and license activation.
• Verify hardware installation quality (cable connections, power supply, GPS status) and coordinate with installation teams to fix issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Familiar with basic principles, network topology, and key processes of 5G wireless communication.
• Familiar with the 5G base station product equipment structure, hardware modules and interfaces, and site commissioning process of one of the mainstream equipment manufacturers (such as Huawei/ZTE/Ericsson, etc.).
• Be proficient in Linux commands.
