SGS is seeking an experienced Welding & Coating/Painting Inspector in Venezuela. The role covers inspection of pipelines, pressure equipment, and structural steel, plus coating and corrosion protection across projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and EPC sectors.

The ideal candidate has 5–15 years in welding and coating inspections, with related certifications. You will review WPS/PQR, verify welder qualifications, oversee NDT coordination, and prepare comprehensive inspection reports for

• Diploma or higher in mechanical/metallurgical or related engineering field is required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform welding inspection activities for pipelines, pressure equipment, structural steel, and fabrication works.
• Review and verify WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and welding procedures.
• Monitor fit-up, welding, fabrication, and assembly activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.
• Conduct visual inspection of welds and coordinate NDT activities as required.
• Perform inspection of surface preparation, coating, painting, and corrosion protection systems.
• Monitor blasting, cleaning, environmental conditions, and coating application processes.
• Verify coating quality through dry film thickness (DFT), adhesion, holiday testing, and surface profile measurements.
• Inspect coating and painting activities for pipelines, storage tanks, structural steel, and corrosion protection projects.
• Review quality documentation, inspection reports, and test records.
• Identify non-conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain inspection records.
