SGS is seeking an experienced Welding & Coating/Painting Inspector in Venezuela to support quality assurance across pipelines, pressure equipment and structural steel projects. You will inspect welding, coating and corrosion protection systems, review WPS/PQR, and coordinate NDT activities with project teams.

The role requires 5–15 years in the field and relevant certifications, with close collaboration to clients and fabricators on EPC and industrial projects.

Formación

• 5–15 years of welding & coating/painting inspection experience.
• Diploma/BE/BTech in mechanical/metallurgical or related engineering discipline.

Responsabilidades

• Perform welding inspection for pipelines, pressure equipment, structural steel and fabrication works.
• Review and verify WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and welding procedures.
• Monitor fit-up, welding, fabrication and assembly to ensure compliance with project specs and standards.
• Conduct visual weld inspections and coordinate NDT activities as required.
• Inspect surface preparation, coating, painting and corrosion protection systems.
• Monitor blasting, cleaning, environmental conditions and coating application processes.
• Verify coating quality through DFT, adhesion, holiday testing and surface profile measurements.
• Inspect coating/painting activities for pipelines, storage tanks, structural steel and corrosion projects.
• Review quality documentation, inspection reports and test records.
• Identify non-conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, fabricators and project stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain records.
