Job summary

Veta Virtual Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a fast-growing fintech and cryptocurrency-focused team. The role focuses on digital asset accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting for a global crypto kiosk network.

You will handle crypto rollforwards, wallet reconciliations, FMV remeasurements, and journal entries while ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple entities and markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly rollforwards for crypto holdings across BTC, ETH, LTC, and others.
• Reconcile wallet balances to blockchain data and internal subledgers; resolve discrepancies.
• Perform FMV calculations and remeasurements for digital assets.
• Process and account for crypto donations, rewards, and incentives; record hardware wallet activity.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close; reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules; support financial reporting and audits.
• Develop spreadsheet reports and verify financial information; drive process improvements.
• Analyze accounting policies and contribute to SOP development across teams.

Veta Virtual is hiring a Staff Accountant for one of our high-growth clients in the Fintech and Cryptocurrency industry. This is a unique, forward-thinking accounting role built for someone who combines strong foundational accounting skills with a genuine understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain — supporting digital asset accounting, monthly close processes, and financial reporting for one of the world's largest crypto kiosk networks. Your Role

• Preparing and maintaining monthly rollforwards for BTC, ETH, LTC, and other supported digital assets — ensuring accuracy and completeness across all crypto holdings.
• Reconciling wallet balances to blockchain data and internal subledgers — performing wallet data cleanup, validation, and exception resolution with precision.
• Performing fair market value (FMV) calculations and remeasurements for digital asset holdings — and supporting position checks and proof-of-reserves style reconciliations.
• Processing and accounting for crypto donations, rewards, and incentives — and recording and reconciling hardware wallet activity including Trezor and cold storage.
• Preparing and posting journal entries for month-end close — including balance sheet account reconciliations, flux analysis, and variance explanations.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules — and assisting in preparing financial reporting schedules and audit support packages.
• Developing spreadsheet reports, verifying financial information, and reconciling accounts — contributing to a culture of accuracy, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Analyzing current accounting policies and procedures — recommending improvements, contributing to SOP development, and supporting cross-functional teams on accounting processes.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of related accounting experience — with hands-on exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals is required — this role is specifically focused on digital asset accounting and crypto transaction processing.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite — particularly Excel for reconcilations, reporting, and data analysis.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and sharp attention to detail — you meet deadlines, maintain accuracy under pressure, and never let things slip through the cracks.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills — able to collaborate clearly with cross-functional teams and respond to information requests accurately and promptly.
• Bonus: passion for fintech and the evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
• Bonus: experience with Alteryx, Tableau, or similar data and BI tools.
• Bonus: exposure to multi-entity or international accounting environments.
• To be considered for this role, you must be currently based in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe.
