Job Title: Business Development Representative
Company’s industry: Financial Services (FinTech)
Role type: Full-time as an Independent Contractor (compensation in USD)
About the role
We're looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to lead our commercial growth across LATAM. This is a highly strategic, individual contributor role designed for someone who thrives in complex enterprise sales environments and is excited to build the commercial foundation of a fast-growing fintech.
This is not a transactional sales role. You'll own the full sales cycle—from prospecting to closing—working with banks, fintechs, and large enterprises through long, consultative sales processes that involve procurement, compliance, legal, and risk stakeholders. As the company grows, this role is expected to evolve into building and leading the Business Development team.
What You'll Do
Business Development & Enterprise Sales
- Own the entire B2B sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and closing.
- Build and manage the company's sales pipeline independently across Latin America.
- Develop relationships with banks, fintechs, payment providers, and enterprise clients.
- Navigate complex, long sales cycles involving procurement, compliance, security reviews, and risk committees.
- Drive growth across the company's core business verticals, including cross-border payments, remittances, and emerging payment segments such as gaming.
Strategic Banking Partnerships
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with sponsor banks that serve as strategic regulatory partners.
- Manage these partnerships as long-term business relationships that are critical to the company's operations and expansion.
Product & Industry Expertise
- Develop a strong understanding of API-first payment infrastructure, including payment flows, settlement, foreign exchange (FX), and integrations.
- Confidently present technical payment solutions to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Understand the regulatory landscape across LATAM payment markets to ensure commercial opportunities align with local market requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Legal to structure commercial agreements before contract execution.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Go-to-Market teams to ensure messaging and positioning remain consistent across all customer interactions.
- Provide leadership with regular visibility into pipeline health, forecasting, market opportunities, and deal risks.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, with significant experience in fintech, payments, or financial services.
- Proven experience selling across Latin America with a strong understanding of regional market dynamics and cultural differences.
- Demonstrated success managing long enterprise sales cycles with regulated financial institutions.
- Solid understanding of payment infrastructure and API-based products.
- Proven ability to build and close your own pipeline independently.
- Experience selling consultative, high-value enterprise solutions rather than transactional products.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
Nice to Have
- Existing network of contacts within LATAM banks or fintech companies.
- Experience selling payment infrastructure or financial APIs.
- Experience working with sponsor banks or regulatory partnerships.
- Background in remittances, cross-border payments, or gaming payments.
What Success Looks Like
- A consistently growing, self-generated enterprise sales pipeline.
- Successful acquisition of new customers and strategic partnerships aligned with company priorities.
- Strong, trusted relationships with sponsor banks and key financial partners.
- Commercial agreements that are well-structured before reaching Legal for final contract negotiation.
- A sales narrative that consistently reflects the brand’s positioning and long-term vision.
