We are seeking a civil litigation Paralegal to join our high‑performing team. The successful candidate will be a key player in our fast‑paced, busy legal environment, providing comprehensive support to our legal department. This role will require a strong understanding of general liability defense work, legal documentation, legal writing, legal case management, legal document review, legal support services, and legal ethics. What You'll Do:
- Draft, proofread, and edit various legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
- Assist in managing all aspects of legal case management from discovery through trial preparation including organizing case files, maintaining case calendars, and tracking filing deadlines.
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation to support case preparation.
- Review, analyze, and summarize legal documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide general administrative support to the legal team such as answering phones, managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining the department's filing system.
- Liaise with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals in a professional and ethical manner.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant for a civil litigation defense firm.
- Proficiency in legal documentation, legal writing, legal case management, legal document review, legal support services, and legal ethics.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A proactive and self‑motivated approach to work with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A paralegal certificate or equivalent legal qualification would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of the legal industry and its regulations and laws.
