Job summary

Nashville Zoo is seeking a Pest Control Technician to lead the design, maintenance, and evaluation of a responsive pest control program under veterinary oversight. You will use IPM approaches and chemical products to protect the zoo’s collection, food services, and grounds.

Responsibilities include precluding food sources for pests, coordinating with Zoological Managers, and liaising with City officials for mosquito deterrence. Strong safety, reporting, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Tennessee C7 pest control applicator license required.
• 3 years of pest control experience preferred, in licensed capacity.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to preclude pests in all areas of the zoo.
• Communicate pest issues with Zoological Managers and Lead Keepers.
• Coordinate with City officials on mosquito deterrence and control.
• Manage chemical supplies, storage, and waste disposal.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of goods as needed.
• Apply IPM methods and chemical agents safely and legally.
• Prepare reports on IPM activities and SDS reviews.
