Job summary

Nashville Zoo is seeking a Pest Control Technician to design, implement and evaluate a responsive pest control program using chemical products and IPM. You will safeguard collection areas, food services, and grounds under veterinary guidance.

Responsibilities include precluding food sources for pests, reporting to supervisors, and coordinating with City officials for mosquito control while adhering to SDS and safety protocols day-to-day.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Tennessee C7 pest control applicator license required.
• Minimum three years of pest control experience, preferably in licensed capacity.
• Experience in sensitive environments preferred (zoo, hospital, food handling, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IPM strategies to reduce pest harborage in all areas.
• Maintain communication with managers and keep written reports up to date.
• Apply chemical agents safely and legally; humane trapping as needed.
• Assist with grounds upkeep, pest nuisances, and cooperation with vendors.
