Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
• Legal experience in land use, zoning, real estate, municipal law, environmental law, or civil litigation.
• Strong interest in Massachusetts land use and zoning law, including Chapter 40A, local bylaws, subdivision law, wetlands regulation, etc.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply Massachusetts statutes, regulations, local bylaws, and municipal decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, municipal officials, opposing counsel, consultants, and the public.
• Willingness and ability to appear before local boards and commissions, including ZBA, Planning Boards, Conservation Commissions, and Boards of Health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on land use statutes, regulations, and local bylaws.
• Draft memoranda, applications, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and appear at hearings before local boards and in court.
• Represent clients in zoning and permitting matters before ZBA, Planning Boards, and other bodies.
• Involve in all aspects of litigation from case assessment to trial preparation.
