Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Land Use and Zoning Associate for a midsize suburban Philadelphia law firm. You will represent developers, homeowners, institutions, and others across PA and NJ, handling approvals from zoning boards and authorities.

The role requires attending evening hearings, supporting a culture that grows your book of business, and benefitting from a hybrid schedule with on-site tech resources and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Admission to practice in PA; eligible to waive into NJ.
• Typically 4–8 years in land use/zoning; consider fewer for the right candidate.
• Attend evening hearings regularly in Philly and suburbs; coverage on hearings.
• Experience with depositions or court appearances is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obtaining approvals from governing bodies and commissions.

Land Use and Zoning Associate | Philadelphia Suburbs | Hybrid

In this unposted role at a highly regarded midsize suburban Philadelphia Law firm, you'll represent a wide array of clients including developers, homebuilders, homeowners, landowners, educational institutions, healthcare institutions, retailers, etc. throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

You’ll also assist clients with obtaining approvals from zoning hearing boards, planning commissions, governing bodies, historical commissions, sewer authorities, water authorities and when necessary, the Courts at the local, state, and federal level.

Qualifications:

• Admission to practice in PA and eligible to waive into NJ
• Ideally 4-8 years of land use/zoning experience but open to less experience for the right candidate
• The associate will be expected to attend evening hearings on a regular basis throughout the Philly/Philly suburbs to Central NJ area. The land use group will typically work out coverage for each other if a personal commitment conflicts with a hearing
• Prior experience handling depositions and/or appearing in court; trial experience a plus
• Need to have reliable transportation and valid Driver's License to attend client meetings etc.
