Job summary

CREtelligent in Akron, OH is seeking a Zoning Analyst to research, analyze, and interpret zoning and land use regulations nationwide as part of CRE due diligence. You will collaborate with a team of zoning researchers and analysts to prepare comprehensive zoning reports for clients.

The role emphasizes strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, environmental, real estate, geography, public administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in commercial real estate, zoning, land use, permitting, planning, or related research preferred.
• Understanding of, or interest in developing, knowledge of zoning ordinances, land use regulations, and the client–consultant relationship.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Data Acquisition: Collaborate with the Zoning Research team to gather necessary municipal documents and records to support the report writing process.
• Quality Assurance: Review and analyze regulatory documents to extract key data points, ensuring the information obtained is accurate, complete, and relevant to the reporting requirements.
• Reporting: Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports by applying your knowledge of zoning, land use regulations, and commercial real estate (CRE) due diligence.
• Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during the research and reporting process, ensuring project timelines and client needs are met.
• Confidentiality: Handle all sensitive documents and information with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
