Job summary

FXCollaborative in Brooklyn, NY, seeks a talented Zoning/Pre-Design Architect to lead pre-design feasibility studies for complex mixed-use NYC projects. You will research zoning constraints, prepare massing diagrams and yield analyses, and develop materials for rezoning efforts, while coordinating with consultants and land use counsel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Masters or Bachelor of Architecture or Urban Design/Planning degree.
• Experience with NYC Zoning Resolution and NYC rezoning process.
• Ability to work across multiple scales on large and small teams.
• Familiarity with various building types and planning standards.
• Experience at NYC Department of City Planning or similar agencies preferred.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
• Hardworking and a team player.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D graphic design software.

Responsibilities

• Research and prepare zoning analysis and constraints for complex mixed-use projects in NYC.
• Prepare feasibility studies including concept level floor plans, massing diagrams, area and residential unit yield summaries.
• Prepare materials for rezoning projects through processes such as ULURP or GPP.
• Prepare presentation drawings including master plan concepts, illustrative site plans, and massing views for larger Urban Design projects.
• Prepare zoning study proposals and manage zoning study projects and teams.
• Collaborate and coordinate with consultants and/or land use counsel to review architectural and zoning compliance.
