Job summary

Job description

The Town of Hartford, VT is seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as the Zoning Administrative Officer (ZA). The ZA is the principal municipal official who is responsible for interpreting, administering, and enforcing Hartford’s Land Use Regulations including the Zoning Regulations, Subdivision Regulations, Special Flood Hazard Area Regulations, and the Sign Ordinance, as governed under 24 V.S.A. Chapter 117 and applicable State land use laws.

The ZA is the primary point of contact for people seeking permits for land development. The ZA staffs the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Design Review Committee.

The ZA reports to the Director of the Department of Planning and Development.
