Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certificate 1 preferred: Asst Laboratory Animal Tech.
• Certificate 2 preferred: Laboratory Animal Technician.
• 1 year of experience with animals or in a lab animal environment.
• Follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision.
• Teamwork-oriented and able to work in a lab setting.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily husbandry care for research animals.
• Provide clean cages, fresh food and water, and environmental enrichment as scheduled.
• Monitor animal health and well-being; report illnesses.
• Complete reporting documents and cage notification cards.
• Operate biosafety equipment and related facilities as applicable.
• Houses arriving animal colonies and manages logs and cage cards.
• Monitor environmental parameters and maintain room logs.
