Job summary

Hudson Restaurant Group is hiring Shift Leads to help lead daily restaurant operations and support our teams in delivering outstanding service. This is an entry-level leadership position for someone ready to build management skills, take on greater responsibility and prepare for future advancement.

As a Shift Lead at Zaxby's, you will work hands-on across front-of-house and back-of-house, ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and helping open/close the restaurant

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or leadership experience preferred.
• Willingness to work hands-on in all areas of the restaurant.
• Ability to communicate clearly, delegate responsibilities and support team members.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, guest service and operational standards.
• Dependable, energetic and committed to working as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to complete all required Zaxby's training and certifications.
• Interest in developing leadership skills and advancing within the restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Help lead restaurant shifts and support day-to-day operations.
• Assign positions, delegate responsibilities and keep the team focused throughout each shift.
• Work hands-on across front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
• Maintain high standards for guest service, food quality, cleanliness, accuracy and speed.
• Open and close the restaurant and office according to established procedures.
• Serve as a responsible keycard holder and follow restaurant security procedures.
• Accurately handle cash and complete required shift reconciliations.
• Conduct restaurant walk-throughs to identify and address operational needs.
• Support the implementation of new procedures, promotions and operational improvements.
• Report daily restaurant performance numbers and develop an understanding of what they mean.
• Communicate staffing, equipment and operational concerns to restaurant leadership.
• Coach and support team members while setting a positive example.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized restaurant.
• Consistently uphold Zaxby's brand standards, policies and procedures.

Learn and Grow

Shift Leads receive hands-on training designed to prepare them for greater leadership responsibilities, including:

• Learning and mastering all front-of-house and back-of-house positions
• Completing Zaxby's University training and manager certification
• Obtaining ServSafe certification
• Building proficiency in restaurant systems and operational tools
• Developing shift leadership, team deployment and delegation skills
• Learning how to interpret restaurant performance metrics
• Exploring future advancement into a Restaurant Director role in Hospitality, Quality, Training or Drive-Thru
