Job summary

Legends Global at Mohegan Arena is seeking a Zamboni Operator to prepare and operate ice resurfacing equipment during hockey practices and games, and to perform routine ice maintenance. The role requires mechanical aptitude, reliability, and ability to work flexible hours when events dictate.

The successful candidate will operate the Zamboni and blades, perform basic maintenance, complete log reports, and ensure ice meets standards. Training may be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Facility operations or Zamboni experience preferred, may train.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Willing to work variable hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operates the Zamboni during hockey games and practices, maintaining the ice to AHL standards

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the preparation and operation of the ice resurfacing equipment during hockey practice and games, as well as ice maintenance functions.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates the Zamboni during hockey games and practices, maintaining the ice to AHL standards
• Ability to use an Edger and change the Zamboni blades
• Performs maintenance, repairs, and service on ice equipment (Zamboni and Edger)
• Completes all required log reports for the Zamboni and also for ice maintenance
• Performs ice depth checks as needed
• Completes a game day checklist

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Mechanical aptitude preferred
• Previous facility operations/Zamboni experience preferred but may be willing to train the right candidate
• Previous facility operations experience a plus
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events
• Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as part of a team, and have reliable transportation
• Must practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and complete any company-wide safety training and any additional job specific training
• Must pass a HireRight Background Check in accordance with company policy
