Job summary

Legends Global's Fishers Event Center is actively seeking a part-time Zamboni Driver to maintain ice quality and safety for practices, games, and events. You will operate and service the ice resurfacer, perform setup and break down for events, and collaborate with the Operations team to deliver a positive guest experience.

Previous experience driving a Zamboni is helpful; flexible hours include nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED preferred.
• Previous facility operations experience a plus.
• Prior experience driving a Zamboni machine helpful.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.
• Requires ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ice for practices, games and events; remove debris, check ice depth, scrape, edge, resurface and maintain spectator netting.
• Operate and maintain ice resurfacer and ice-edger equipment.
• Repair and build ice.
• Drive Zamboni during hockey games maintaining NHL standards.
• Repair/build ice around goals and other areas that lose ice.
• Set up and break down for events (laying turf, installing basketball floor, making ice).
• Maintain locker room areas and perform repairs as directed by the Operations Manager.
• Operate a forklift truck.
• Work under pressure and/or strict schedules to meet deadlines.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

THE ROLE

Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Zamboni Driver. Zamboni Drivers maintain the quality and safety of the ice surface along with resurfacing for preparation for various activities and ensuring a positive experience for guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare ice for all practices, games and other ice events. This includes removing debris, checking ice depth, scraping, edging, resurfacing ice and maintenance of spectator netting

• Operate and maintain the ice re-surface and ice-edger equipment

• Repair and build ice

• Drive Zamboni during hockey games maintaining the ice to NHL standards.

• Must be familiar with techniques for repairing and building ice around hockey goals and other areas that lose ice.

• Perform general physical labor associated with set up and break down for events i.e. laying turf, installing basketball floor, making ice

• Maintain locker room areas. Make repairs as directed by the Operations Manager

• Operate a forklift truck

• Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate results and meet deadlines

• May perform other duties as assigned
