Job summary

North American Stainless is seeking a ZMill Floor Operator to handle floor-level tasks on the mill, follow standard work, and perform instructions accurately.

You will load/unload coils, change rolls and backing shafts, inspect strip per work instructions, and maintain housekeeping and safety practices. Strong communication and the ability to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and operate machinery.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate and communicate with material movement and roll grinding the necessary

coils and mill roll needs for the production shift.

• Loading and unloading coils onto the machine.
• Change rolls and backing shafts as needed.
• Inspect the strip per work instructions.
• Data entry into P.C.'s.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Other duties as assigned
• Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Of a High School Diploma Or GED Required

PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Mobility in plant
• While performing the duties of (this job), the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
• The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• The employee must occasionally push and/or pull up to 100 pounds
• Visual ability with or without correction
• Communication abilities

Some areas may require additional personal protective equipment such as:

• Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.

• Fire Retardant clothing

• Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy

• Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines
• Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
