Job summary

The Guidance Center (TGC) in Leavenworth, Kansas is hiring a part-time Youth Psychosocial Program Group Leader Assistant to support the YPP. You will assist in promoting group engagement, support client participation, and help sustain effective group dynamics in the program.

Responsibilities include transporting clients, facilitating groups, and documenting work in line with TGC standards. Evening availability is required; two to five days per week after 5 p.m.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED required.
  • Must have completed one year of college course work in the field of human services, or have one year of experience in the field of human services, or
  • One year combination of education and work experience in the field of human services
  • EXPERIENCE: required: at least 6 months experience working with individuals in the community. Experience gained through practicum or volunteer work.
  • Preferred: experience working with individuals with mental health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with promoting successful group interactions among consumers
  • Encourage and support clients’ engagement in YPP activities
  • Encourage and support clients’ efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact with others
  • Work respectfully and supportively with clients’ parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries
  • Serve as Attendant on van transportation routes as assigned
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate groups as assigned
  • Transport clients to and from appointments and activities when necessary.
  • Understand direct service requirements and efficiency goals established by TGC for the position, and achieve same
  • Provide documentation (clinical notes, reports, and other professional products) which complies with TGC’s Quality Improvement standards and the requirements of all funding sources.
  • Be able to organize work to meet direct service expectations and Center requirements.

Education

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. Youth Psychosocial ProgramGroup Leader Assistant - PT to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. This position provides attendant care services to clients participatingin the Center’s YPP program. Evenings Required (1+ days per week after 5 p).

Primary Duties:

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

Required: atleast 6 months experience working with individuals in the community. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included.
