Job summary

The Guidance Center in Kansas seeks a part-time Van Driver to support our Adult Psychosocial Programs by transporting clients to activities and appointments.

You will maintain daily trip logs, ensure vans are clean and functional, and coordinate with supervisors for scheduling and routes. Prior driving experience and a valid license are required; Class B CDL is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide door to door transportation of clients to and from the Adult Psychosocial Program and other treatment activities on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
  • Transport clients to community resources and appointments as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain daily transportation logs and ensure vans are cleaned and maintained; report required service.

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Van Driver - PT to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. The responsibility of this person will be to drive Center vans as scheduled by thesupervisor andkeep them operational.

  • Competitive hourly compensation of $17.81 to $20.21, depending upon qualifications
Primary Duties
  1. Provide door to door transportationofclientsresidingin Atchison, Jefferson, and Leavenworth Counties to and from the Adult Psychosocial Program and other treatment activities, occurring on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.Many activity outings occur locally and, in thesurrounding,metropolitan area.
  2. Transport CSS clients for resource acquisition (obtaining groceries, medical appointments, etc.) asdirected by the supervisor or designee.
  3. Transport CSS clients to and from other treatment facilities/agencies consistent with their treatment plan, such as nursing facility for mental health residents
  4. Transport youthparticipatingin Youth Psychosocial Programs as directed by supervisor.
  5. Maintain daily records of transportationserviceprovided asrequired, i.e., number served, miles driven, timerequired, gallons of gasoline used.
  6. Maintain the vans bymonitoringall needed service and repairs (cleaning, oil changes, tires, brakes, belts, etc.), then arrange for the service needed as directed by the supervisor.
  7. Take the vans to Topeka for the annual inspection required bythe KansasDepartment of Transportation if directed by thesupervisor.
  8. Performadditionaltasks/responsibilities as assigned.
  9. Provide response and support to clients and caregivers when emergencies occur andimmediatelynotify supervisor foradditionaldirection.
  10. Adapt to changing work priorities and a fast-paced environment whilemaintainingprofessionalism.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

Required:High School diploma or GED, and valid driver's license

Preferred:Class B CDL

EXPERIENCE

Preferred: previous professional driving experience transporting people, products, equipment, or supplies, with demonstrated safe driving practices, reliability, and customer service skills.
