Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services required.
• State CSAC certification within two years of signing the job description is required in Virginia or equivalent certification recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors.
• Experience in substance abuse treatment is preferred.
• Experience in a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
• Experience in Therapeutic Community model programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating psycho-educational and process group sessions as defined by the curriculum for Youthful Offenders.
• Providing individual counseling and documenting each session per policy.
• Maintaining clinical records per Spectrum standards.
• Correcting documentation deficiencies within established timeframes.
• Soliciting external guest speakers to provide pro social and pro recovery presentations.
• Serving as a role model/mentor for inmates while maintaining professional boundaries.
