Job summary

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Young Adult Peer Mentor (MCI) in Milford, MA. The role involves providing peer-based education, coaching, and support to youth and young adults during crisis intervention and follow-up, drawing on lived experience to inspire engagement and recovery. The position offers full-time hours (40/week) with a 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

or 12 p.m.–8 p.m. schedule Tuesday through Saturday, and a rate of $22.94/hour plus CPS/CARC bonuses where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 3 years lived experience with behavioral health/substance use challenges during youth/young adulthood.
• Experience as a recipient of behavioral health services.
• One year experience working with target population as a YAPM or closely related role.
• Must be a Certified Peer Specialist or complete CPS training to obtain certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide strength-based education, coaching, modeling, guidance, and support to youth and young adults from a peer perspective.
• Draw on lived experience with behavioral health challenges to support individuals served in various settings.
• Share personal experiences to inspire hope, motivation, and engagement.
• Provide peer support and advocacy during crisis intervention and follow-up, tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and use recovery experience to support individuals in their recovery.
