Job summary

Commonpoint Queens is seeking a Job Developer to support Opportunity Youth through vocational assessments, career counseling, and job placement services. You will build employer partnerships and guide participants through the job search process, including resumes and mock interviews.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience in workforce development, with a focus on youth facing barriers to employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as required in related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce development, recruiting, human resources, or employment services.
• Experience with Opportunity Youth or similar populations.
• Track record of achieving enrollment, placement, retention, or performance outcomes.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; PDF software.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with participants to help secure and maintain employment.
• Conduct vocational assessments and provide career counseling with referrals to training.
• Guide participants through resume development, applications, mock interviews, and networking.
• Meet program goals by enrolling participants into internships and achieving job placement targets.
• Provide coaching and employment support to youth and adults with barriers.
• Collaborate with Case Managers to develop workplace readiness and professional skills.
• Develop employer partnerships to identify opportunities aligned with participants' goals.
• Advocate for participants by removing barriers to employment.
• Maintain documentation and data in required systems.
• Coordinate referrals to supportive services and monitor progress.
• Conduct weekly worksite visits to collect timesheets and ensure positive experiences.
• Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development.
