Job summary

HANAC is seeking Job-Readiness Counselors in New York City to develop young people's work readiness and social skills. Counselors will engage directly with youth, guiding them in their employment journeys and ensuring their well-being within work environments.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work flexibly, and a passion for community development. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in youth services. The position offers $20.76 per hour, with a flexible schedule between 8 am and 11 pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years experience in Youth Services.
• Minimum three years of supervisory experience.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct enrollment and participant orientations.
• Maintain and update all participants’ employment files.
• Complete weekly assessments, including a written summary.

Skills

Ability and patience to work with youth

Proficient in Microsoft Office Word/Excel

Excellent verbal and writing skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Education

High School Diploma or GED; AA/AS degree a plus
