The YMCA of Delaware is seeking an instructor to support Livestrong and youth wellness programs. You will lead fitness sessions, promote the YMCA mission, and serve as a positive role model for members and staff in Newark and surrounding communities.

The role requires working with participants to improve physical health, interpersonal skills, and program engagement, with training provided and opportunities for certification and career growth.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of exercise physiology and body mechanics.
• Ability to work with participants to address the whole person (spirit, mind and body).
• Experience in an exercise setting.

Responsabilités

• Promote the YMCA mission and core values to members and staff.
• Ensure safety of class participants by following best practices and report issues to supervisor.
• Prepare class equipment and return it after each session.
• Attend required trainings and meetings.
• Engage with participants during and after class to build relationships.
• Contribute to Livestrong program activities and data collection per guidelines.
• Assist with marketing and fundraising efforts for Livestrong and Annual Campaign.

High School diploma or equivalent

Bachelor of Science in health and well-being (preferred)
