Job summary

State of Missouri invites applications for a Food Service Worker in its Youth Services division. You will support day treatment and residential programs, preparing meals, supervising kitchen safety, and assisting in menu development to meet nutrition standards.

The role includes lifting heavy items, inventory control, and supervising youth in food prep activities. A background in food service and ability to work long hours in a kitchen are required. State benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year in food service or related role.
• Ability to follow nutrition guidelines for well-balanced meals.
• Experience with inventory and daily reporting is preferred.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as sole denial factor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and components for large institutional meals.
• Assist in meal prep, measuring ingredients and monitoring temperatures.
• Requisition supplies and manage inventories; track counts.
• Develop menus that meet nutrition standards when assigned.
• Ensure safety and sanitation; supervise cleaning and food handling.
• Lift and carry heavy food portions as needed.
• Rotate stock to prevent spoilage and waste; secure storeroom.
