Qualifications

• Knowledge of nutrition and ability to develop balanced menus.
• 1+ year experience as a Food Service Assistant or relevant substitute education/experience.
• Ability to lift/carry large portions and work long hours in a hot kitchen.
• Experience with sanitation and safety procedures in a large institutional kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepares major meals in a large institutional kitchen.
• Assist in meal preparation: measure ingredients, mix, boil, fry, monitor temperatures.
• Manage supplies, inventory, and monthly stock rotation to reduce waste.
• Develop menus compliant with nutrition rules for well-balanced meals.
• Complete reports and maintain sanitation standards in kitchen.
