Job summary

The Village in Hartford, CT is seeking an entry-level Juvenile Transportation/Case Aide to provide scheduled transportation for clients and assist with related cases in a community-based program.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive a motor vehicle. Weekend availability and flexibility are essential, with duties including documentation and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation to clients from program as per schedule.
• Engages clients while transporting.
• Attends trainings and meetings, as needed, to meet the requirements of the position.
• Maintains mileage log and all other required documentation.
• Reports vehicle problems to Property Management.
• Assists in weekly vehicle inspection and completion of forms.
• Reports any difficulties with clients while transporting to supervisor.
• Observes all traffic laws, safety regulations and safety procedures, i.e., safety belt use.
• Supervises behavior of clients while in the agency vehicle and immediately reports any incidents or disclosures.
• Engages in strength-based, culturally competent, trauma-informed and gender responsive interactions with clients/families.
• Upholds all program expectations.
• Promotes a safe, welcoming environment with a focus on risk reduction and positive behavior change.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness within the vehicle.
