Job summary

The Older Youth Case Manager position with the Department of Child Services is based in Jasper, Indiana, serving Dubois, Martin, and Orange counties. You will manage an adolescent caseload, coordinate independent living services, and ensure access to supports as outlined in policy.

A background in social services and strong investigative skills are essential. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus significant human services expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of human services experience if only an Associate degree.
• Thirty college credits with four years of human services experience acceptable.
• At least five years of human services experience may substitute for degrees.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported child abuse/neglect and determine substantiation for court disposition.
• Assess risk levels and determine need for protective actions or placement.
• Develop needs assessments and treatment plans for families and youth.
• Prepare reports and briefings; support independent living and reunification goals.
• Visit placements and coordinate with adoption or independent living teams.
• Maintain case files and data to identify trends and inform management.
