Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services related area.
• Two years’ experience in providing services to adolescents.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to work with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of community resources, juvenile justice laws, and emergency procedures.
• Specialized clinical training in addictions, abuse, adolescent development, mental health, crisis intervention, and parenting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group or family counseling to residents.
• Provide in-depth crisis intervention counseling.
• Consult with Detention Officers on behavior interpretation and management.
• Provide written reports on residents’ behavior and progress.
• Administer ASO testing to new residents and support behavior modification.
• Coordinate communication with residents' legal representatives and probation.
• Instruct residents on unit rules, safety, and behavior; participate in disciplinary hearings.
• Attend treatment team meetings and assist educational staff as required.
• Review records to assess progress and adjust classifications as needed.
