Job summary

AltaPointe Health in Alabama seeks a Therapeutic Mentor to support youth and young adults within our mental health services. You will coach, guide, and empower participants, fostering recovery-oriented skills and self-advocacy.

Flexibility for evening and weekend hours is expected. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and connect youth to community supports and services to promote improved outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in youth and young adults.
• Understanding of cultural diversity and inclusive practices.
• Familiarity with behavior management and crisis intervention.
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented treatment approaches.
• Ability to communicate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to attend DMH-approved Therapeutic Mentor training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with youth to provide support and guidance.
• Coach youth in age-appropriate behaviors and problem-solving skills.
• Offer group and one-on-one social activities to develop skills.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and share ideas and feedback.
• Document interactions and progress in a timely, clear manner.
• Act as a resource and advocate for participants when needed.
