Job summary

YMCA in Lincoln, Rhode Island is seeking a dedicated Swim Team Coach to lead swimmers of all ages in a safe, engaging environment. You will plan practices, foster a positive team culture, and support each athlete's growth while upholding YMCA values.

You will recruit and develop athletes, work with the Aquatics team, participate in swim meets, and communicate with parents to support long-term athletic development. Lifeguard certification and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Swim Coaching in leadership positions.
• Proven track record coaching swimmers of varying ability.
• Lifeguard certification is required.
• Must pass YMCA background check and complete Child Abuse Prevention training.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly practices focusing on technique and athlete development.
• Create recruitment, retention, and athlete development plans.
• Cooperate with Aquatics Staff and coaches to promote the club.
• Attend meets and coaches meetings; coordinate events for swimmers and parents.
• Teach supplemental private lessons to team members.
