Job summary

WaveAquatics in Redmond, WA is seeking a dedicated Sport Team Assistant Coach to support planned practices designed by the lead coach. You will mentor youth as a positive role model and assist during meets, helping with warm-ups, strategy, and feedback.

Responsibilities include coaching technique and endurance, communicating with parents, and maintaining a safe, inclusive team environment. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in swimming or athletics required.
• Excellent verbal communication for teaching young athletes.
• Patience to work with children of varying skill levels.
• Ability to work with coaches and staff and align with team goals.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Current lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to certify within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with swim practices focusing on technique, endurance, and speed.
• Provide one-on-one coaching to swimmers to improve specific skills.
• Assist with meet preparation including warm-ups and race strategy.
• Mentor youth and foster a positive, inclusive team environment.
• Develop swim mechanics for various skill levels and goals.
• Enforce safety protocols and requirements.
• Communicate with parents about progress and events.
• Schedule and perform administrative duties as needed.
• Resolve conflicts among swimmers, parents, or staff diplomatically.
