The NYS Office of Children and Family Services seeks a Youth Support Specialist to supervise court-placed youth (ages 12-20) in OCFS facilities, ensuring safety and a therapeutic environment while supporting youth activities.

As part of a treatment-focused team, you will engage with youth and families from diverse backgrounds, apply harm-reduction strategies, and help youth achieve education, work readiness, and community transition goals.

Qualificações

• Two years full-time direct care experience in youth care or related settings.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an Associate's degree with six months of experience.
• High school diploma with one year of direct care experience acceptable.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• Direct care with youth in juvenile justice or residential settings.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise court-placed youth and maintain a safe, professional environment.
• Participate on a youth support team addressing emotional and behavioral needs.
• Engage with youth under stress and use de-escalation strategies.
• Assist youth in education, work readiness, and community transition goals.
• Supervise recreation and education activities and coordinate with families.
