Job summary

Division of Youth Services in Hillsboro, Missouri, is hiring a Social Services Aide/Community Mentor. This part-time, non-benefit eligible hourly position involves transporting youth to and from school in a 14-passenger mini-bus, and supporting their educational and personal development.

Typical hours are 5:30 am–9:00 am and 2:30 pm–5:30 pm, with up to 39 hours available every two weeks. A valid driver’s license is required; a special license is not.

Qualifications

• This role requires a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with youths or coursework in social science/criminal justice is preferred.
• Candidates should communicate clearly and honestly with youths and families.
• Maintain professional boundaries with clients and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Transport youth to school, appointments, or meetings in a state vehicle.
• Develop constructive relationships and provide structure and guidance.
• Serve as a positive role model and support system.
• Assist youth in securing employment, driving permits, HiSET testing, and resources.
• Meet with supervisor regularly and report information on youth progress.
