Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking a youth sports and recreation assistant to support program activities and participant safety. You will plan and lead activities, monitor the gym or field, and communicate with parents as a YMCA representative.

The role requires a mature, team-oriented individual with basic life support and first aid training. Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and are comfortable engaging with children, families and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 and either a high school student or graduate.
• Strong communication abilities with children, parents and staff.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow program rules.
• Certifications: ASHI Basic Life Support (ASHI CPR Pro) and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead participant sports and recreation activities.
• Monitor field and gym; may supervise games and officiate.
• Communicate with parents as a YMCA representative.
• Maintain program schedules and safety standards.
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
• Follow youth pick-up and check-out procedures.
• Model YMCA values and report any illness or safety concerns.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings and perform other duties.
