Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Sports Assistant to support program delivery for children during practices, games, and events. You will help create a positive experience that reflects YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must have oral, auditory and written communication skills for interacting with children and adults.
• Keen desire to work with children and relate to them positively and patiently.
• Basic knowledge of sports.
• Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering youth sports practices, games and events.
• Monitor safety and ensure YMCA rules are followed.
• Prepare playing areas to ensure participant safety.
• Greet and communicate with parents and support staff.
• Promote YMCA core values in all activities.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
