Job summary

Family YMCA of Marion & Polk Counties is seeking a part-time youth sports referee to oversee games for 3-4 year olds through 6th grade. You will supervise the site experience for players, coaches, and spectators, ensuring safety, fair play, and friendly interactions while upholding YMCA values.

Responsibilities include refereeing, equipment prep, roster validation, and engaging families to foster a welcoming atmosphere. Physical activity and emergency readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Must obtain First Aid & CPR Certification.
• Mandatory Abuse Reporting Training must be completed.
• Concussion Certificates within 30 days of employment or first available training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of current fitness issues/trends.
• Respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Engage with players, coaches, and spectators to make everyone feel welcome.
• Lead age-appropriate coaching and ensure fair playing time for all players.
• Promote YMCA values in all interactions with participants and staff.
• Prepare and manage game equipment and ensure the site is clean and safe.
