Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of NE Florida seeks a Youth Development Professional for Oceanway Middle School in Jacksonville, FL. This role focuses on programming that builds physical fitness, character, and life skills for youth ages 6 to 18.

You will plan, supervise, and deliver sports and recreation activities, ensure safety, and work with staff to promote positive youth development and inclusive programs. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues.
• Ability to work with the public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a variety of sports and recreation programs for youth.
• Recruit and retain youth for sports programs.
• Work with staff to implement programs throughout the school year.
• Coach teams in Boys & Girls Clubs leagues.
• Prepare weekly reports for program leadership.
• Maintain a daily schedule and ensure programs start/end on time.
• May participate in special programs/events; occasional evenings/weekends.
